History

Girl mischief™ is a Washington, DC based accessory company that focuses on signature detailing and an uncompromising standard of old world craftsmanship. Comprised of necklaces, bracelets, hair accessories and earrings, gm has an eclectic point of view that pairs the luxurious with the casual, creating a look that is always fashionable but never trendy.

Washington, DC native Amanda Greene is the creative force behind gm. A graduate of the American College in London with a degree in Fashion Merchandising and Design, she has been designing for over 15 years, first as an interior designer and then under the tutelage of Lisa Taramino of Lisa Violetto Accessories in 1991. It was while there that Amanda began designing accessories that soon were being carried at I. Magnin and Nordstrom.

In 1996 Amanda was recruited to work for Danchig Documentary Textile Studio based in New York as a Representative. While at Danchig, she worked with some of the top fashion houses, including Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, Liz Claiborne and Joseph Aboud.

Amanda started developing a line of accessories for women and men but she needed a name. She looked to her friend and web designer Todd Messer who, through a phone conversation, came up with the name girl mischief™. Armed with the perfect name, she created the concept of "bad ass gear". In 2002, Amanda set out and presented her winter collection to positive reviews. Seeing the void for accessories "with a twist", she launched gm's web site, www.girlmischief.com and showcased her wares at several independent designer forums. Energized by the positive public feedback on her Spring 2003 collection, plans are in development to expand the business to various retail outlets along the East coast. With the solid web team of Messer and Dave McKain as well as Courtney Lake heading up Public Relations/ Marketing, girl mischief™ is well on it's way to being a star in it's own right.

Aside from designing, Amanda is also a rising star in the plus-size modeling world. Signed with The Artist Agency in Washington, DC, in 1999 she shot a national ad for the Ashley Stewart clothing line.

With designs that provoke the mind and the fashion sense, Amanda and her line are always asking…
